Every curve is concentric on a center more than a canvas width outside the frame, so the picture is a crop of one enormous ring. A worked band crosses edge to edge, splitting a dark field from a light, colored field, its cells stepping down through four resolutions from solid plates through hatching to fine ripple. Away from the band, strata widen geometrically in that same field's hue while only arcs and grain remain.
