Molt

The black rupture tears the square in jags, and the shell peels back as one continuous ribbon along the break. At mid-break the fold's wide pale inside face rolls over on a bold stepped contour — a jagged facet edge where the turn lands on the field. The face sweeps from light facets at the roll-over lip to dim ones at the field, so the turn reads as one rolling volume.
