Every stone lies flat face on flat face and level, and a placement is kept only when the weight above each contact falls inside that contact. The rule builds a stabile: two posts, a bar laid across them, and a long beam reaching several times the width of its seat, held by a counterweight set back behind it. Six or seven footprints are cut this way, among them Fahrenheit's L, Market Street Village's sawtooth and the Spire's lens.
